This factory just outside the city of Hasselt, was built in 1893 to produce chemicals such as glue, gelatine and fertiliser. After a fusion with with the Vilvoorde factory in 1919, and the Hyon factory in 1925, it became one of the largest producers of gelatine in the world, with more than 300 people working in Hasselt.

From the 1960’s the production of Gelatine declined, and the factory was closed on 30 juni 1969.
